The house has been finished in a modern Andalucian rustic style which means it fits very well into its surroundings of olive and almond trees.
If you want peace, quiet and privacy, this property is fabulous for that. There is no other residential house in the immediate area, and only a few farm buildings in distance. All you see are trees and mountains.
A central patio gives access to a laundry room and also to the huge 140 m2 shed with a ceiling height suitable for trucks, tractors or machinery. Historically this has been used as an artists studio which also housed art classes from the current owner.
This property ticks many of the often requested requirements – a large holiday home that can accommodate an extended family to holiday together but with room for them to spread out. If this house were to gain ‘casa rural’ tourist home status, it could be rented for a good amount of money weekly (perhaps €1,800 or more per week).Or it can be the ideal home for a car or motorcycle enthusiast, or someone who has a hobby or makes a living with the space provided by a huge barn.
The land is very well cared for by a neighboring farmer and this arrangement can be continued or stopped as the new owner wishes.
Access to the property is via an excellently maintained double width compacted gravel road which is GPS/Sat Nav compatible.
The entrance doors are electric and are operated by remote control. Then a long concrete driveway winds gently up to the house so that this house can be easily accessed.
Rarely do you find a house that has easy access and no other houses in sight, so peace and quiet is guaranteed, yet only a 6 minute drive from the center of Archidona which has great amenities. The historic city of Antequera is a 20-minute drive from the house. Here you will find everything you need for modern life. While Archidona has smaller supermarkets and numerous restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries, etc.
Malaga city and Malaga airport are a 50 minute drive from the house. Granada airport is 50 minutes away by car and the city of Granada less than 1 hour from the center. Córdoba city center is 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car.
From the Antequera city center train station (soon to receive the AVE high speed train) and from Antequera Santa-Ana or Bobadilla you can use the train to go to Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, Seville and beyond.
The Archidona area is famous for its walking/walking routes, horse riding and climbing. This means that the house is ideal for a tourist adventure throughout the year.
The property is currently rented long term so all furniture and light fittings shown in the photos belong to the tenants.
Archidona is a historic village with a hilltop monastery that also has a restaurant on top of the mountain where the monastery/shrine is located. From the house you can clearly see the sanctuary which is illuminated at night and this is a wonderful sight. Throughout the pretty village you will find all kinds of restaurants, cafes, butchers, bakeries, hairdressers, clothing boutiques, a magnificent medical center with an on-call medical center and a helipad, an incredible circular central square. The municipal swimming pool is impressive, covered with a huge dome in the colder months with hot water and open to the sun during the warmer months.
